Prevention Tips Against Covid 19 We are living in unprecedented times!

We are watching the spread of an airborne virus travel around the globe infecting people of all ages and in some cases causing death. It’s hitting us now in Canada, and strategic measures are being put in place to reduce its contagion.

This is new territory on a large scale!

Recommendations by Health Canada are focused on distance and separation i.e. social distancing, working remotely and staying at home.There are more preventative health measures you can take to protect yourself and your household against the virus.

#1 PROTECT YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM! If symptoms hit, your immunity is the most vulnerable.

Here are some basics to get you started:

  • Frequent hand washing with soap. Try not to use hand sanitizer. It is loaded with chemicals that block your immune system from functioning properly
  • Try to limit frequent touching on your face (nose, mouth, eyes)
  • Drink lots of water throughout the day to remove toxins and waste out of the body,
  • Eat wholesome foods! Now that you have the time to cook, prepare quality meals for yourself. Eat lots of antioxidant foods, colourful vegetables and fruits. Antioxidants kills free radicals toxins that attack the immune system.
  • Avoid the urge to eat those dairy, high sugar, and processed foods such as breads, pastas, baked goods and pre-packaged meals. Those foods build up inflammation in your body causing weaknesses in�your immune system.
  • Take a good-quality organic multi-vitamin with a range of zinc, selenium, plant enzymes, Vitamin D and vitamin B’s.
  • Take vitamin C – 2000 to 3000 units at a time, 3-4 times a day or every 4 hours. Vitamin C is anti microbial, anti fungal, antihistamine and anti bacterial and has huge benefits.

Environmentally, around your home:
  1. Design your workspace comfortably to do your job remotely,

  6. Keep positive, do things that make you happy and relaxed!
  7. Get a good night̢۪s sleep,
  8. Rest, Reenergize, Read and Relax!
  9. Show gratitude to health workers or anyone doing extraordinary things during this time. Gratitude actions make us feel good about ourselves!
