While not technically a July favorite, as of this morning, my Patreon is live and I couldn’t be more excited! For $9.99/month, you can get access to additional workout classes and a monthly workout calendar (plus bonus videos). I did a deep dive into all the details in this video, and don’t hesitate to send any questions my way!
Favorite Products Buffy Sheets
I AM OBSESSED WITH THESE SHEETS. I desperately needed new bedding, so—like a stereotypical Millenial—I visited the websites of brands that advertise on Instagram and podcasts I enjoy. Brooklinen, Buffy, Parachute, Ettitude—you know what I’m talking about. Not sure why I went with Buffy but so glad I did.
The fabric is eucalyptus, and is somewhere between cotton and linen. It’s light, cool, soft, airy. Another bonus is that they fit our ridiculously deep mattress + topper combo. Ugh I just love these sheets! Highly recommend.
(I guess I’m officially in my 30s if sheets are brining me this much joy lol.)
Weekly To-Do List Notepad
Making to-do lists is one of my favorite pastimes. I love this notepad I found on Amazon because it limits you to 6 items per day. I’m a huge procrastinator so it’s helpful to identify the handful of things I *must* complete that day and avoid the temptation to add silly nonessential tasks to my to-do list.
Favorite Things I … ReadIn the Woods by Tana French – Murder mystery where the detective’s past ties into the current case. This is the first in a series of detective novels by Tana French, and I’ll definitely read the others (she’s an excellent writer). In some ways I thought the ending to this book was perfect but (without spoiling anything) in one big way I was seriously annoyed. Would love to know your thoughts if you’ve read it. Maybe we can DM on Insta so we don’t spoil anything in the comments for others.
The Liars’ Club by Mary Karr – I absolutely adored this memoir. It reminded me of Shameless, but with fewer siblings and taking place in the 60’s. Parts are hard to read (tw: childhood sexual abuse), but Karr manages to weave a thread of endearing humor throughout the entire story. Also, she refers to throwing up as “horking” (is that a Texas thing?) and it’s my new favorite word. The Liars’ Club focuses on Karr’s childhood, and she has two other memoirs: Cherry (coming of age) and Lit (adult life). I already ordered them—can’t wait to keep reading!
Finding Gobi by Dion Leonard – This is such a sweet, heartwarming story—dogs are just the best! The author’s wife, Lucja, was kind enough to send me a copy of this amazing true story about a stray dog who joins ultramarathoner Dion Leonard along one of his races.
Watched- Schitt’s Creek – Why has it taken me so long to start watching Schitt’s Creek?! I’m obsessed! HILARIOUS. If you’ve been living under a rock like I was, start watching this show immediately.
- The #influencerchallenge Trend on TikTok – Some of these videos had me crying laughing. You film your significant other’s reaction as you pretend to be an influencer (“Hey guys, so a lot of you have been asking about my skincare routine”) and the result is hilarious. Here’s one, but just search the #influencerchallenge on TikTok to find them all.
- folklore – I’m typically not a Taylor Swift fan, but I LOVE this album. It’s lovely from start to finish, the lyrics are incredible, I … I think I’m becoming a Swiftie? What is happening?!

We explored a new beach near Boston this month, and had a great day at Nahant Beach. They weren’t charging for parking (maybe due to covid?) which made it even better. The sand is really hard, but other than that I think it’s a good beach. And it’s shallow even really far out—bring a beach chair, plant it in the shallow water, and enjoy a good book while the water laps around your legs.
Pickles’ Favorites Bedsure Dog Bed
Pickles loves her new memory foam dog bed! She likes to stretch out (I tried one of those fluffy donut dog beds with the high sides and she hated it), so it’s perfect. Super lightweight, too, which makes it easy to bring back and forth to my parents’ house.
That’s it for July!
